Hi guys! Happy Monday. How was your weekend? Can you believe it's June already? I've been super busy at work lately (Hence the no posts - but I'm slowly trying to get into my new work routine so I'm planning to post more too.) Also, I haven't forgotten the freebie for May - I will be posting two school kids related freebie worksheets this month.
Last month I picked up one of the new Essence palettes they released. They have quite a few pretty new ones - but being obsessed with all things French and Paris I knew the Salut Paris palette was the one for me.
And I was totally in luck - the colours in the palette is totally up my alley. I do love awesome mauve and pink and tones as everyday staples - so I loved the colour choices in addition to the neutrals in this palette. It makes it a very friendly everyday colours palette. Personally, for me, a mirror doesn't play that important role - but I do like that it is added to this palette. For some I know it's essential for travelling but I do prefer to take/ use my own mirror for applying eyeshadow. I love the colour layout too - and the shimmers in the palette are to die for. Some Essence eyeshadow to tend to be a hit and miss - these are all buttery and applies like a dream. Overall - this particular palette swatches like a dream and is very very user-friendly - I can easily create an eye look whether it's a more neutral look or a soft pinky girly glam look.
The only downside for me personally - the packaging isn't that sturdy and is basically just a hard piece of cardboard - so I don't know how they will travel. The shadows also last a good 7/8 hours but it does fade throughout the day.
So onto the swatches -

The palette retails for R149 from Clicks, Dischem and Take-a-lot. I got mine from Dischem when I popped in for some vitamins (which we all know never ends up in just vitamins ... )
Which is your favourite go-to the eye-look palette to use currently ??
