The Weeknd, who E! claimed was secretly seeing Bella Hadid earlier this week, is actually causally dating the other girl he was photographed being cuddly with at Coachella, Justin Bieber's ex Chantel Jeffries. Us Weekly reports that "Chantel and The Weeknd are definitely dating," per a source. "It's new and nothing crazy serious."

Jeffries and The Weeknd first dated years ago, before she went out with Bieber in 2014 and before The Weeknd dated Bieber's other ex Selena Gomez in 2017, the outlet pointed out. "They have been friends for years since. They're seeing if they can make it work," Us's source said.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd's ex Bella Hadid made headlines yesterday when she cheekily commented "it wasn't me" under E!'s Instagram reporting that her and The Weeknd were seen kissing all night at a Coachella party. But Us Weekly reported the Hadid and The Weeknd PDA sighting too, and stands by its original report. "Multiple sources confirmed to Us that Hadid and The Weeknd were indeed canoodling at Coachella," the outlet wrote.
Of course, The Weeknd could be dating both of them. E! reported he and Hadid weren't exclusive. "Bella never really lost feeling for Abel [Tesfaye, The Weeknd's real name] and had hope they would eventually get back together," the outlet's source said Monday. "[They're] secretly seeing each other recently [but] are not official." The Weeknd is "playing the field" and "openly dating" other women while Hadid "wants to be exclusive."
This may explain why she so publicly denied kissing him even if she did given the Chanel Jeffries-The Weeknd headlines going around. "We're not involved" is a much better public relationship status than "it's complicated because he doesn't want to commit to me or any one girl."
