Lanvin CEOs are playing nasty in leaked email.

Wow.

So Alber Elbaz vs Lanvin is getting a bit heated.

Apparently there has been a leaked letter that WWD have claimed to see doing the rounds. In the letter, Elbaz details his shock that Lanvin CEOs Shaw Lan Wang (that one again) and Michele Huiban have been claiming by email that Elbaz's designs were responsible for slow sales which is why they asked him to leave. The words 'lack of creative designs' were used! Cheek!

Elbaz asked the pair to stop blaming his work citing weak management and a lack of investment and a cohesive marketing strategy as reasons for poor sales.

He says that he will grant a long interview or take the matter to the courts to preserve his reputation.

Huiban said in the email that Elbaz was aggressive and also that his being asked to leave was inevitable.  The email which was addressed to the Lanvin employees on November 6th has also been leaked online. Relations between the workers and head office remain strained with both parties attending a tribunal this month in Paris to sort out the issues of the designer's removal.

Albert's successor is yet to be named.

Strikes me as damage control for the two CEOs which has backfired. Can you not accept that this is not going to be a popular move to fire someone who is well liked and respected? Just let the man have his dignity, his work and his reputation and quietly replace him if you feel you need to. Awful.
