United Nations Secretary General, Ban ki-Moon on Tuesday June 2, 2015 announced that he will convene an international Ebola Recovery Conference next month in New York on July 10th to help mobilise needed resources in the last mile of the response against Ebola outbreak and to start the affected countries on the path of early recovery.
He said all efforts must be made to support the affected region in getting to a resilient zero case and then begin to recover.
United Nations Special Envoy on Ebola, Dr. David Nabarro said next month's planned Ebola Recovery Conference will be followed by the African Union's efforts to galvanise African people, then governments and their business leaders in solidarity with the affected communities and countries at a 20 July conference in Malabo Guinea.
David Nabarro also said, " the challenge facing us all is not to end Ebola outbreak but to ensure a healthier and safer future for all the world's people"
Both Sierra Leone and Guinea are currently not ebola free.
